Architecture and urban planning are always tied to their locations. Needs generate content that in turn generates form. The selected stylistic orientation will be influenced by factors such as clients’ needs, residents’ preferences, local history, and legal guidelines. Our task is to extract the essential from every task, considering all frame conditions. Architecture is the framework for human activities. Form adapts, but it can also surprise.

Rationality and appropriateness are part of the process management of every design or construction project, but this cannot be the only factor guiding sustainable design. Without a main theme, without a well-prepared script, even the simplest task will get lost. The harmonic progression of each task must be played so that the melody is recognisable.

Perceiving each task’s requirements and mobilising each project group’s commitment towards a common objective, is our primary task as a project expert. We seek to understand design commissions as overall entities. Without an overall grasp, the management of sub-tasks will be lacking. Without a feeling for detail, the control of large-scale entities will remain incomplete. A symphony cannot be composed without an understanding of orchestral nuances. Every note, loud or soft, counts.

The physical manifestation of ecological sustainability appears in different forms depending on the design commission assigned to us. In structural engineering it can guide form giving or technical performance, in urban design the placement of functions.

We live in a time where the pace of global urbanisation is accelerating faster than during any other time in history. This poses formidable challenges for designers; our mission is to provide solutions for these challenges, one task and commission at a time. Because everything we do and produce leaves its mark, we aim at making our designs as sustainable as possible. The need to generate effective design solutions within existing societal frameworks is growing, as is the significance of design quality. This is also a challenge that we willingly accept.

With increasing frequency, we find ourselves facing situations where the resources available for a project are being weighed more precisely and with greater care. Waste consumes ecological capital from our common future, whether it is a question of space use, urban design, or land-use planning. Form giving follows the assessment of needs. You cannot have one without the other.

Competitions are a significant part of our successful architectural operations. Competitions broaden our perspectives, enhance our teamwork capabilities, and create opportunities. We believe in creative thinking. We believe in common sense. And we believe in emotional response, also a rational component of architecture.

We believe that the viewpoints and opinion of all parties are important in every design assignment. Our task in the planning process is to meet the expectations of all project participants while creating sustainable buildings and vital, developing cities built together with other professionals and city dwellers.
